How do I add more menu items such as About, Contact, Prices etc to an existing menu which comes standard with a WP theme?

well in theory, just adding those pages should add them to the menu, though some themes may vary from this. Have you checked the actual menu settings in 'Appearance' tab, see whether the theme is using that to establish the menu?

Thanks Yv but still no joy. Your photography site is based on WP. How did you manage to get all the menu items? Did you just started adding posts as menu items?

No, all menu items are static pages on mine but like I say, it can depend on the theme. I think some prophoto themes for example might use the blog categories as default menu items [only going off what I have seen, never used them] but I pressume they are customisable somewhere within the theme settings or through the main dashboard. To start with, are you using a free of paid for theme?

Hi Yv, I think I have resolved the issue by taking your advice of simply creating posts. I am using a free theme to start with. The theme is called Photolistic 1.3 by Buzzrain.

Many thanks Yv. This site is yet to disappoint me with quality and friendliness :)

Did you use a particular Plug-in or widget to display your "Your Proofs" page? I would like to use the same concept for a Portfolio page and have different categories when a visitor clicks on the portfolio link which will not have any password mechanism.

sadly no, thats actually my zenfolio link page where client galleries are hosted.

However, you could do something similar using the inbuilt WP gallery. creat pages for each portfolio area and add the pictures, either as a gallery or as individual larger pics [like on my blog posts] - the create a new page which will actually be called 'portfolio' - upload a suitable image for each link and post as a gallery - however, once done, you can go into the media library from dashboard, and add a link for each image - simply add a link for each of the section pages you created earlier.

See this post [but same would apply on a page] >> http://yvonnewhitephotography.com/talk-photography-convention/ - your portfolio sections page would be similar, but then main portfolio page would look the same, but the images would link to the portfolio sections instead of larger versions of images.

If you dont want the separate portfolio sections to appear in the menus, go to the menus from dashboard and create a custom menu that uses only the pages you want to appear.
