from what i gather i need to make a new header which i have done and is awaiting upload

here is the fun part

how do i do this - from a few guides online which are not helping much they say i should change xx amount of code . ok fair point but the code there showing doesnt exist so am i in the wrong place as i am sure im not

also i understand i need to upload the image but it is pointless untill i know im in the correct part

reall need help with this thanks
 
I just did this in my own admin panel. it should be in the <appearence> <header> section and then you just browse to the replacement artwork. Will take a screenshot and add it in a minute




It may be different depending on template. Which one are you using?

John - this is theme dependant.

AF Pro theme gives you the above CP to change logo etc, but not all of them do.

What theme are you using Alex?
 
Custom header option only shows for certain themes depending on how customizable they are

does show for me, I had to customise the header.php file via the editor in the appearance tab

you may want to copy the file and everything in the header before editing just as a backup

it is a website for the local club i take pics for i just help out with this side of things its hosted on my own webhosting so i have full control

this is one i installed about 10 mins after my 1st post i made the banner it asked for the link so i give it the link off flick r for the banner but it doesnt show the image

I changed my theme today and in the preview my header was there, but when I confirmed it, I had to upload a new one. I also had to enable 'show header' somwhere.

Will look tomorrow and post again.. As I can't remember what I did...
 
If you modify your header to suite one style it would only work on that theme

you would need to edit each theme you have to use your logo
 
If you name the file header.jpg and then use an FTP client to upload it to the Images folder within your theme, it should ask if you want to overwite the existing header.jpg.
Once you have it should work
