After the fall of woolies it looks like another name is on the slippery slope as Babytiger has just been given a weeks notice (amongst others) at Wilkos so its looking like the reccession is now hitting hard again and may claim another scalp

Now that really would shock me. I hope your photography arm of the empire does OK and wish Babytiger all the best for the future.

they have just opened a new store up our way

hope all works out for you both

Wilko's in trouble? I popped in my local one yesterday and it was rammed as usual, and even worse on a weekend.

Ours is usually really busy too.

However, we don't know what's happening at the top though do we.

Hope everything works out for you.

Regards

A friend of mine worked for the Principles group and was made redundant just after Xmas. She got a good package and has now found another job. A few days ago they announced that Principles group has gone to the wall so my friend has been very lucky indeed!

Yeah I thought Wilkinsons as a company was doing quite well? Must just be branch specific

Looks like it may just be the odd cutback which I hope it is as Eileen has just been told her one weeks notice has risen to 5 weeks so looks good for a few weeks

EDIT ...Just been told WILKOS is not in trouble its just costcutting so it doesnt get into trouble and the cutbacks are part of the CCP team that have travelled around the country to different stores and come to this conclusion.

The warehouse staff are no longer required and also holding a lot of stock is no longer required so when the deliveries arrive the stackers put the new stock straight onto the shelves this eliminates any warehousing at all wilkos stores and means most warehouse staff are now redundant in all but the superstores
