No terrorism at all, just straight murder, pure and simple, the only thing that sets this aside from any other knife murder is that the victim was a soldier and the killers were religious fanatics :(

People are individuals, annoys me when one person does something and immediately their country or religion etc is blamed. Of course that may have had an impact on what they did, but the fact of the matter is, that person did what they did. It doesn't matter about their colour, religion or race. Anyone can commit murder if they wanted to.

Absolutely sickening that things like this happen. Seeing him in that video as well... Urgh what has the world become.

Sweeping statement and more than likely wholly incorrect

I think you'll find if it's proven to be motivated by religious and or political reasons, it'll may well be classed as terrorism. The authorities will make that decision based on the facts I can assure you.

Unfortunately the statements and utterances of the murderers is going to make this different from the norm, and the fact they brought their religion into the murder and they appear to have targeted a person who is thought to be a Brit soldier is going to make this story far greater than a simple murder, this will get worldwide attention.

Have you not watched the video, those are the exact reasons the bloke gave himself, no one else has claimed it on his behalf.

Not incorrect at all,

It boils down to murder, one person died, the killers used weapons, one was a car, the others knives, they did this whist reciting passages from their "bible"

The video after would be construed as terrorism or at least extremism.

Just because religion is involved doesn't automatically make it terrorism to begin with.

We'll see.

Yeah didn't really listen to him, just saw him with the knives and just thought it was another murder. Just watched it again. Really is sickening. But what I mean is, a lot of people can share 1 religion, but only 1 person may commit murder over it whilst every other person won't.

And so it starts.. Just unfriended people on Facebook for being grade A racists.

Done the same. EDL are calling people to the area. This could get even uglier very quickly.

Best of luck to anyone in Woolwich tonight and same to the police.

I think you are right, there is going to be alot of repercussions from this, I can not see it blowing over with no other outcome.

Makes you wonder whats next?

heh..
need to quickly go shopping and stay locked indoors afterward...

I deal with Muslims on a daily basis. Muslims from Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, Qatar, Libya etc. They're great people and always treat me with respect. Most of them even call me "brother" and ask me to eat with them, drink coffee etc. There is no religious hatred whatsoever. The cases that we see in a TV, where Muslims are killing "in the name of Allah" are uneducated, brainwashed and poor individuals, who have probably never even read Qur'an.

Ah, the hypocrisy of religion. Thank Christ I'm an athiest:D

there is too much media around this...same goes for twitter and all of it is just blowing balloon of hatred even more...

People like these do not represent any religion, they represent only their own distorted and evil views.

Exactly gramps. People shouldn't blame the religion. Fact of the matter is, that person committed murder.

I'm not a conspiracy'ist but the media, press, police and the government are all being very very tight lipped. The BBC interviewed live the local reverend who said he was a witness and on the scene early and the body was headless. It then cut back to the studio fast and no mention of that since.

My friend who is a great guy is ex BNP and now resides in Germany. He still has links with the EDL etc and also said all defence leagues etc as rallying troops to the area.

OK I know this is an emotive subject and I don't necessarily disagree with the sentiments, but can we stay within forum rules and not try to bypass the swear filter please?

Before the thread strays too far off course in that direction, just a gentle reminder about the "no religion" rule too.

 Thanks.

OK, the guy with the bloodied hands also made political comments as well. Terrorism??

I'm not quite sure what the conspiracy angle is here? If it was a beheading, it would just make it even more grotesque and gruesome, but not sure about a conspiracy theory.

Of course, any attack like this is designed to put a sense of fear into the population and in this instance a specific part of the population ... the armed forces.
The message is 'you may be home but you are not safe here either'.

Well by your very own admissions there then it is clearly a terrorist attack.

Are you qualified at this stage to determine their views as distorted?

Yes but I am forbidden to give my reasons by the forum rules.

You don't think that someone who beheads another on a public street in the afternoon whilst being filmed and proclaiming their views to others is distorted?

and ...

Others who've posted on here already obviously think it is not a terrorist attack. I'm 100% of the view it falls into that category and is.

On point 1 you can PM me and explain if you like.

On point 2, Forum rules probably prevent me from giving my honest views so I won't but my answer, in my opinion, yes!!

Maybe I should of worded it better. I'm not saying there is a conspiracy but I'm saying there probably is a media curtain on what's happened to preserve the polices upper hand on dealing with it

Anyone watching the BBC news channel? They had a Muslim spokesperson speaker man in and it started ok but the more it went on the more radical he started to sound blaming us for ruining Afgan etc. Queue a cut off screen, title music and he's gone when the newsreader returns

As a Muslim, I absolutely deplore, detest and am horrified at this. Cruel as it sounds, I sincerely hope he was just a complete mental case, I shudder at the thought of one nutter damaging the delicate fabric of today's society. There can never be any justification for this. My heartfelt condolences to the victim and his family.

I sincerely hope the media does not incite any racial tension as a result of this :(

Of course they're nutters! Their actions were the actions of nutters!

Sadly, even in this forum, we're immediately seeing people inciting tension as a reaction to their actions!

And incidentally I'm posting this from holiday in Marrakech, surrounded by the loveliest, friendliest people in the world and I doubt if many of them are Christian!

... Indeed as I'm typing this, the Muezzin have just started calling the faithful to their last prayers of the day!

If only we could execute these people. What a waste of tax keeping them alive. Take them out of hospital and place them in the barracks.

Really can we keep the execute them out of this please. Not the place.

EDL are throwing missiles at police according to twitter.

Why attack the police????
