I'm bloody overjoyed to finally offically announce that Ali and I are expecting our first child on 6th September. :D

Thanks everyone. I'm almost prepared for the lack of sleep. Been acclimatising myself by not bothering going to bed anymore. ;) Oh, and throwing £20 notes away at random intervals. :D

Enjoy the early years as much as you can. They soon fly by.
Hopefully he/she will grow up to enjoy photography also and maybe buy a decent make.. ;) :D

...On second thoughts that'll mean they wont borrow (break) my glass. I'll foist Nikon on 'em as soon as possible!

1) get some sleep this side of birth
2) get some quality time with the missus b 4 baby comes
3) enjoy the 'bump' and pregnancy, it seems like it files when you think back
4) AND MOST IMPORTANT IMO

If you not sqeemish, please please watch the birth if its natural, i promise with my hand on heart, it will be the most amazing thing you will ever see or experience, my bungee or parachute didn't even come close, honestly.

Thanks for that, Ricky. I totally plan to be there - couldn't imagine being anywhere else! Our plan A is to have a home birth with a birthing pool. Obviously, it might not work out that way, but it is the plan.
 
Nice to hear good news there, congratulations! As you say, ample opportunities to capture every moment of him/her growing up! I was beaten to it by Paulie-W, hope you got what you need for your kit... unless someone starts putting up new nappies in the classified...
(Now there's a thought! :D)
 
Congrats Dean - it's the best thing in the world, as I found out back in October. Life changing yes, enjoyable yes, worth the hassle yes :) :thumbs:

You do realise that if your little one is born in Gods Own County she will be a true tyke, and if you and Ali live here for another 20 years you will both be eligible to apply for acceptance in the comunity.
Of course not all applications are succesfull but you can live in hope....

Just what I thought 23 years ago just get plenty of sleep,fill your walet whilst you still have money and prepare to tear your hair out the first time they bring a girlfriend/boyfriend back.Other than that its a doddle
