My 40D has died

Err 99

I've changed batteries (both)

Tried with other lenses

Fired with no lens or CF card (so not a contact problem)

And it still Err 99s

The shutter sounds decidely odd so I think its repair time!

Anyone any useful experience of the Canon repair service? :shrug:

I had a couple of err99s with my Canon 20D/Sigma 50-150mm f/2.8 about 18 months ago.. This happened within a few weeks..

I cleaned the electrical contacts on both lens and camera.. It hasn't happened since..

Thanks but in my case it was a shutter malfunction and Canon replaced the shutter assembly. I did look at the contacts but the error was occuring with and without lens attached so that was quickly ruled out
