Thanks for the feedback everyone! Sorry I've been off-grid for a few weeks, just when I'd managed to catch up, I'm now 3 weeks behind again. :troll: Doh!

Size - That's a very clever shot. Seems sharp enough to me. Where do people find all these props eh? All I ever have are random men from my little one's lego box!

Thanks Tim - I'd had this idea (or something similar) whilst walking past my local model shop. They are model railway models I believe? Bloody tiny though!

Anywho, here's week 22 - Forgotten.
22/52 - Forgotten by Matt, on Flickr

Why forgotten you ask? Well I'd forgotten just how unreliable our British summertime is, and had forgotten and left the washing out...in the rain. A frantic dash to get it all in again to try and avoid the look the missus gave me - a look of disapproval I don't think I'll ever forget. Haha!

On to Stone, which should be up by the weekend if work commitments go to plan!

Been there, done, that, got the t-shirt ... yeah, got the dirty look too ha ha ha. Like the water droplets off that yellow peg. Excellent for the theme Matt:clap:

Haha! Thanks Carl! I was debating at the time whether I just leave the washing out in the rain to emphasise the 'forgotten' bit, but then quickly realised I'd have gotten much more than the look if I had!

Thanks! Yeah, cobwebs there too, didn't notice them at the time!

Thanks DM!

Cheers Chris!

Haha, that's a good take on the theme Matt.
Was it taken through a window (the reflections amke me think yes), I quite like the muted, slightly washed out processing, it reminds me of a polaroid.

Hi Matt. Love the shot for Forgotten. Rain and cobwebs and the leading lines of the erm lines :) The pop of colour from the pegs lifts it nicely.

Thanks Tim - it wasn't actually taken through a window! I think that what looks like reflections, are actually raindrops! I took this from the shelter of the back door! :)

Running very much behind now - doh! Will try and catch up properly over the next few days. Sorry I've not been around to comment on other submissions too!

Finally managed to get out with my camera today!
Here's Stone - which hopefully doesn't need too much explanation.

Simple probably needs a bit more explanation!
24/52 - Simple by Matt, on Flickr

I didn't have anything in mind for this, literally grabbed camera, headed towards sunset and took some shots of whatever I could find within a 5 min walk from my front door. Pretty simple! Also, hardly any PP either - run it through Nik collection and it was done. Keep it simple stupid! :)

Hoping to catch up some more with Sign(s) either later tonight / tomorrow!

I think Simple is a wonderful shot with the bokeh and the sunlight picking out the outlines of the plant.

Hi Matt - Really liking your low PoV on the stone theme, shame the path doesn't lead to somewhere more exciting, but hey it is where it is, so nowt you could do, really like the detail close in :)

Simple - It sure is, but very effective, love the mottled bokeh background and that warm light from the setting sun :)

Simple ... a beaut. Lovely light on the flower but also lots of empty space filled with glorious bokeh. (y)

Stone works, but it's not as strong as some of your images...

Thanks guys - totally agree with you! I'm not really too happy with Stone, it lacks a focal point or a feature. But hey-ho, it'll do! :)

Not wanting to fall 3 weeks behind, here is Sign(s):
25/52 - Sign(s) by Matt, on Flickr

Bit of a different shot for this theme as I typically stick to the standard ratio when cropping. Not really sure why, but the OCD in me struggles with a non-standard crop! That said, I did think the top down view here suited a square crop (only lost more pavement from the top, which didn't add anything). Also, I shot this on my phone - not the best camera (by any stretch!), but hey, they say the best camera is always the one you have with you!

Hoping to get out and shoot the remaining themes just as soon as this bloody rain lets up! :grumpy:

I like that photo, square crop and phone camera or not, even though I have no idea what the arrows on the ground are supposed to mean. Although the highlights seem to be a bit blown out.

Very unusual sign Matt. Wonder what the arrows are for - maybe something to do with the movement of the crack?!? I think the crop is spot on; nice composition with the trainers lending a sense of scale.

^^ Thanks guys! The blown out highlights might in fact be the high-key processing I was going for...but perhaps it was in fact the dodgy camera phone.
As for the actual arrows and what they actually mean - no idea! At a guess, I think it's a tour of Chester's walls or something similar? Could be wrong, but the walls are close by.

Anyway, thought with a quiet afternoon and a quick gap in the rain (typical summertime weather at the moment!) I'd nip out and take another 52 shot. Didn't get far before the rain came on again and I had to bail back indoors. Looking now at what I've taken, I'm not entirely sure this is as sharp as I'd like. Focus looks to be a bit off maybe?

Here it is, Flora:

Nearly caught up! :)

Matt, tend to agree slightly with your comments, but I like the small flower appearing through the larger green leaves

Hi, the arrows in the floor are something to do with the millennium pointing the way around Chester I think there are various routes to take though they now seem to be forgotten, anyway for a phone pic it works well.
Love the little flower amongst all that foilage

Interesting signs, nice find, good to get inclusion of the shoes.

The little flower poking though, water droplets too ... nice one, but could it be better focussed?

Great find for Signs something a little different I like the B&W conversion

Really like the little flower amongst the green leaves the water drops are a great feature too

Don't stress about the aspect ratio, Matt. We're all shooting piddly little format anyway and it's closer to square for "real" photography ;)

I really like Sign - intriguing image (haven't a clue what's going on there) and a great conversion. Very nicely spotted. well captured and very well edited (y)

Flora is lovely - nice bright take, great detail on those wet leaves too.

Smashing find for Sign Matt I really the the composition, it works very well, sometimes I'm glad I don't know about things like standard ratio, I just crop to wherever I think it looks the best :)

Super raindrops on those bright green leaves for Flora, and with that little flower peeping through it's lovely.

Stone & Simple - I like both Matt. In Stone the use of leading lines that drop away make you wonder what is beyond, so no issue with there not being an obvious focus to the shot. The lighting behind the plant gives it a nice effect.
Signs - I have to agree on the highlights, but actually I don't think it particularly detracts. Like everyone else, I wonder what the signs are actually for. All very mysterious.
Flora - I agree, the focus isn't quite as sharp as it could be, but not an issue in my eyes. Loving the small purple flower poking through.

forgotten - lol Saw this and remembered I had washing on the line popped out to get it in before commenting so Thank you.
Stone - right on theme
Simple - I like the light behind the flower and that it high lights the hairs on the stem
signs - great find very unusual signs.
Flora - I like the little flower with the big leaves

Thanks everyone for the feedback!

Just when I'd caught up again, I'm fastly approaching being 3 weeks behind again - haha. With that in mind, here's Active:
27/52 - Active by Matt, on Flickr

I found my old GoPro HD in a cupboard - thought it was dead, but after a good 12hrs on charge, it came back to life. Figured I'd give it a go and hook it up to my BMX. Which is where the Active comes in! Since moving I've really missed my bike(s), so I decided I'd build this BMX so I had something to jump on and get a bit more active again in these summer months. It's not a great photo I admit - I think GoPros have come along way since this old model...but hopefully the Active theme comes across!
