Off to Jersey first thing in the morning for a friend's wedding. Our stepdaugher is going to be an absolute picture as she is a bridesmaid :)
And it's a job lot from us as I'm the tog for the day GULP! Our bride is as mad as a hatter and we even had to call her today to get the time of the wedding (hey it's only two days away!) So let's just say it's somewhat unconventional in the preparation and planning department. (That and her hair went ginger at the hairdresser)

So I have put together a backpack with a host of gear since the location recce was via the internet and I really need to offer this place some pics for their website :) (yes they were that bad)

So wish me luck, I'll have about 20 mins at the location before I have to get shooting. I've taken the 5D because it's light and there is a baggage allowance that is limiting my choices. I've got 24-70mm f2.8 70-200mm f2.8 and a 100mm macro for the wedding ring shots and location details. A nifty fifty for low light stuff later (first dance) and a 15-30mm because I think they will suit some wide angle shots. (I know them both so can get close in with no problem) I'm hoping I can get some shots of them tomorrow before their big day too.

Probably the most unconventional bride you could imagine.

Come to think of it, I'm going to need some luck...................

You'll be fine  I wish you all the best just the same.

Good luck hope you have a great day!:)

Best of Luck Ali! and make sure you get out and about while you are there as Jersey is gorgeous! (not that im biased ;) )

Have a wonderful time and great fun togging your friends wedding. Look forward to seeing the results which will no doubt be unconventional but great too :)

Well, I survived!
The bride dropped it on me that there was a beach right next to the location so first thing on Saturday saw me loitering with intent outside Milletts for a pair of sandals I could run around in on the beach. (looked blooming awful with a full length dress but sod it!)

The light in the location was ruinous! But the registrar was a fab bloke and actually allowed pics, with flash, at the actual signing :)

The beach pics worked a treat, the Bride managed not to cry (just!) I think there were threats uttered in case the makeup got ruined.

Oh we all had a fab time over in Jersey, we've been there a few times so know our way around a little, I only wish we had a week off to go togging around the island.

Alas it's back to work tomorrow and around 600 shots to sort through and get some of that awful lighting fixed properly before I get the happy couple a book printed as their wedding present. I need a week off to recover!

Nice one Ali! Looking forward to seeing some of the photies!!! :D

Good luck hope the weather holds you don't need luck to a great tog,

Regards Mark
