If you want to that is :D having been out of work since March my first real chance of any employment will be after tomorrow. I got a days test for a company driving similar to one of these little baby`s :) If they are happy with me then it will be full time for a very long ongoing contract.

Ooowee, test driver for Tonka!

How'd it go?
 
Well I arrived on time and met the boss, the place was a recycling site. He gave me the keys to the loader and said just play about on it for a while and get the feel of things, said he would be keeping an eye on me. Had my little play and moved a pile of woodchips for him. A couple of hours later he came over didnt say too much but asked me if I could drive the 13 ton excavator with the grab on, no probs I said, so for the rest of the day I was loading the hopper with wood into a huge wood chipping machine, this thing took lengths of wood the size of telegraph poles in its stride and spat it out the other end :D
Ath the end of the day I asked him what was happening for Monday, ah well he said I got bloke coming in who has been driving a loading shovel for 12yrs but we are getting some more excavators in a few months time, so if I take your number I will give you a call :shrug: F......!!! Agencys eh? I am sure it was just covering for sickness. Oh well keep on looking :(

Appreciate its a downer for you Rich, but if thats the way that company behaves it may be fortunate that you are not going to work there.
 
What a f*****g nasty trick he got a days work for free, you ought to report the theiving toerag.

Hope you find a real job in the near future Rich
 
Cheers all well he dont get it for free as he has gone through the agency and they will bill him for it, I get a days pay. I just think the turnover of staff is high so they are just getting labour in via the agency, it saves them looking for people.
 
That's so mean of him Rich, you're probably best off not working for them if that's how they treat people eh?

Sorry to hear that, must be a real disappointment. I guess you have tried contacting these companies directly as well as going through agencies?
 
Some companies are like that mate, I'm sure something will come your way soon
