I am back in Spain, and trying to get everything sorted for my first exhibition..!
No big deal - it is in a local bar, and I live miles from anywhere, so it may only be seen by me, my family and the bar staff, but, it's a start !!
Total nightmare getting frames, mounts and prints sorted, and I am just off to get a few last minute bits, and about now the nerves start kicking in - an I total pants, will anyone like them, will anyone buy them (BIG point - no-one here has much money, and the general attitude is " I could have taken that, and got a print that big for 2 euro's"....)
So, any spare good-luck-wishes and general hope-it-goes-well vibes much appreciated !

Just spent another evening trying to sort out names, numbers and pricing for the prints - second time has to be easier, or so I hope...
I'll let you know just what awful stuff happens - last night, we had a big storm, and the bars beer cooler got hit by lightning, and exploded....
Oh blimey, wish I had spent more time saying prayers at Sunday school.....

Well, just got back from the first night, and am feeling pleased as punch !
Within an hour, I had sold 2 prints to a painter and another photographer, and by the end of the evening, I think 8 or 9 had sold, out of 26...!
So many people came up to tell me how much they liked the pictures, which was all I was hoping for, and I am feeling a little amazed. Time for a big brandy and some time chilling with some music and the lights down low !
I guess it will sink in more tomorrow, as the last couple of days have been a little crazy and hectic, with me still sorting out prices and details as the show opened - not all my fault (we had some bits sprung on us at very short notice) but phew - many thanks to all of you who wished me luck - seems to have worked !!

Steve - half way to a sore head, but now enjoying brandy with sweet anis - a 'Sol y Sombra' out here, which slips down all too well, till the morning...

Just got back from a local fiesta, and have been chatting with a few people who were at the exhibition, many of whom want me to put a few pictures up in their office/bar etc, so whilst prices are way low, there does seem to be some support and maybe a small market !
I guess the moral of this all is that if you get out there, (in my case purely by good luck and trust from friends) then things can happen - all I need to do is not fail them now...!

Well done once again Steve :clap::clap:. Have to get a coach trip up so we can all come and see your exhibition:thumbs: How many of us can you put up at your place I think there is only about 2000 or so members should be no probs to you :bonk:

Bob - given my fantastic wealth, and the size of my mansion, there should be no problems putting up 2000 or 3000 of you, provided you don't mind all sharing the spare bedroom, along with all the other stuff that normally fills it - as for getting a coach - why - my jet holds 4000, so space for wife, husbands and partners, as well as any kids who want to tag along..
Only proviso is that you all buy a print at £75,000,000 - got to cover the cost of the plane and mansion somehow..
