It's my wedding anniversary next week and I've talked hubby into buying a Sigma 105 Macro lens for me. I added it to my Amazon shopping basket - save for later- a couple of days ago at £241 inc carriage, then went back yesterday to do the deed. Disaster! It's now gone up to £281. I can find it still at the lower price at several places on the Internet, including Microglobe, but I don't think that it's a good idea to get it from them. I purchased my24mm prime from them a few weeks ago, and although it came on time and was a very good lens, it did not have a UK guarantee, (something they didn't mention at the time). The price was good though so I decided to keep it, and anyway from other reports on the Net, I don't think I would have had much luck returning it for refund.

I think I'm going to have to make my mind up quickly now to order it from Amazon before it goes up again, but before I do does anyone know of a reliable retailer selling UK guaranteed lens at a lower price?
 
this any good for you, it's showing a delivered total of £253, with an 18month warranty. I haven't been able to tell what the warranty really is, and whether the lens is from the UK or imported though.

Thanks John, I did have a look at that, but the guarantee was to return to their workshop therefore not UK Guarantee.

Thank you for looking for me both, but this was from a Market place seller rather than from Amazon, and it's a bit doubtful whether they will have UK guarantee. Previous experience makes me think that they probably wont have, whereas never any problems with Amazon.
 
nice choice barbara...paid £280 for my 105 macro back a few months ago in a london shop in tottenham court road called spectrum,official sigma stockists.you won't be dissapointed with it..fantastic bit of glass(it's just that this user is it's biggest let down :lol:).

oh,and happy anniversary.

As for the Sigma, I believe Kerso will be able to get you the lens even though he may not have it listed on his web site. A couple of months ago I ordered a Nikon teleconverter from him and he got it to me at a very good price - along with a UK invoice too!

£40 difference is huge; I make it a habbit to keep checking various web sites for price fluctuations for all the items that I'd like to buy .. once I see one of these items at a "very" good price, I just grab it.
