Wish i could have got the day off for derwent water for the memmorial flight over the dam.
At least i have met a great deal of thouse that flew the lanc including some of thouse on the Dambuster run.
Perfectly understand they had limited the amount of car passes.
The route of the lank offered soe more photo ops, over the wind farm and bamford church tower and chatsworth.

Oh well,
( now i do not advicate war its a horibble thing but i have immense respect for the allied forces that gave so much )
Remember the crews and all that they gave for Liberty.
God bless them all.

Frustratingly I thought that this was tomorrow (Sat) and had been planning to attend, then heard on Radio Five Live news that it was today. Doh! I'm now sat at work on the 6-2 shift and unable to go. Never mind, I did get to see the Lancaster last weekend locally as it fly over six times.

Got an invite to this earlier in the week, but with 2 of the office staff of i am alone in the office with no chance of atending (and i only live 30 mins from there :bang:

im on the 6-2 shift, rat bags. well i dare say the same will happen for the 70th.
It not the viewing of the lanc as such its the location what a shot comming over the dam between the towers.
Oh Hum

I was going to go....but my tutor gave us a 5 day extension on our final projects from Monday...so hand in is today grrr :(

I know what you mean, iconic setting. Hopefully the Air Show Review forum will have some photos up later.

i was going to go but there was no chance of getting into the damn carparks as it had all been closed off and access was by ticket only so that put me off

I see the BBC News site has video of it, not sure if the current video clip is of today or a past flypast.

edit - the video has changed now to show footage of todays fly over.
