Wireless / wifi access points

Hi,

This is a bit of an odd one... I'm aware that event photographers use wireless access points (sometimes) connected to a battery to transmit images as they are taken for immediate printing / distribution a long way away.

I am designing a similar system to transmit video signals back to our base for broadcast and wondered if anyone had any experience with wifi access points. The one I am currently looking at is the Solwise / EnGenuis 5510 or 2611 and having spoken to Solwise they mentioned that some photographers use them connected to leisure batteries at events.

Any experience or advice would be appreciated

Cheers

Rich

Videos are normally quite large so in general you want as strong a signal as possible as the speed drops the weaker the signal gets. The best setup for speed doesn't give you much range.

You need to define a bit better what you mean by "video signals back to our base for broadcast" What rate, size, whether compression is used etc...
