Where and what triggers are good reliable and not to expensive?

The ones on eBay look very cheap and unreliable. Could someone recommend anything better? I have 3 flashes that I want to use wirelessly thanks.

Regards

Have a look for a thread about strobist gear from "Flash In The Pan" on here, I can't remember what they're called (possibly RF-602) triggers work on a different frequency to the cheaper ones, and are considered more reliable!

I've got a set of them of FITP and they work well for a budget model!
There are more expensive versions, the vast majority of the pro's tend to go for pocket wizards

The RF-602 has not let me down.

Cheap enough to be able to get a receiver for each light plus spares

RF-602

got to agree my RF602 triggers have never missed a beat. The cheap ebay ones were as useless as a chocolate fire guard.

RF602 set via Ebay proved to be a good choice. 3 triggers and 1 transmitter set was about £50. I tested them on arrival and found one was faulty and had no problem getting it exchanged. Ideal kit for firing speedlites. I have An Elinchrom Universal trigger set for studio use but wasn't going to go that route for speedlites, too expensive a proposition as are the Pocket Wizards.

I use Youngnuo CTR301(P) triggers cheap from HK for my Speedlights and my studio lights (only one receiver required for the studio lights as all the other heads are set to Cell.
After about 12 months I haven't had a single problem.

dave showed them to me will hunt through msn logs, not current rf602 compatable otherwise I'd own a set by now :s

They're not RF602s, they are 2.4ghz and they look similar but they come from a different manufacturer and, as David says, aren't compatible with the YongNuo product.

Cheers guys, I couldnt find any on ebay but ill do a google later when I get a chance! Cheers

Hi David,

what 'tweaks' and is there a new reference number?

Malcolm

I can recommend this guy on ebay "cotswoldphoto" http://myworld.ebay.co.uk/cotswoldphoto/.

Ordered my RF-602's and they were delivered the next day. Very Happy with the product and the service. http://SPAM/3yaxbqm

Matt

I've had one RF-602 trigger and a couple of receivers for around a year (or since whenever they came out) and have just added another trigger and three additional receivers courtesy of CotswoldPhoto. I can add a +1 for the triggers and Cotswold.

I did once have a worrying moment with the original trigger one time, when nothing was happening, but a little wriggle of the battery had me sorted. Apart from that, absolutely faultless performance.

I found them again on the bay I think aand they aint 602s :( diff manufacturer and diff cables but still 2.4ghz

sorry for the hopes dashing

Thanks David,

I have now just ordered a triple pack RF 602 ( one spare for colleagues unit when we link up) Local supplier and thought the extra cost for 3 was worth it!

Cheers to all

Malcolm
( must stop spending!)
