Hi All,

I have a Sunpak PX30 flash and a Canon 400D. I'm please with the kit, but as the flash has no swivel (and I'd also like to experiment with off-camera flash), can anyone suggest a relatively cheap way of using the flash off-camera?

I have not got a plastic shoe for the flash to sit on off-camera, is this worth getting also? I have hear some folks put their flash on a pole?

Any ideas greatly appreciated :)

Ta, Si

Basic setup would be purchase wireless trigger, stand and ballhead adaptor.

Mount the flash onto the wireless trigger (Reciever), then onto ballhead adaptor, then onto stand.

Fit the Wireless trigger (transmitter) into the hotshoe on camera....

You then have to adjust the flash manually...

All parts available from FITP flash in the pans thread in the advertisers section....

Thanks Mark, that's great advice. Will take a look at FITP's thread...

Cheers, Si

Ok, had a look at FITP's items, and trying to decide between the PT04, RF-602 and YN-04 II

Can anyone please recommend which would be the best option? There seems to be a lot of worry with compatibility with wireless triggers from doing a spot of Googling... can anyone shed any light on this please? Also, this is a really newb question, but what does the studio connection cord do exactly? Surely the wireless units don't need to be tethered to anything, or am I missing something?

Ta, Si

Your questions should be directed to FITP - you are a potential customer!

Tell him your equipment and ask if he is prepared to return goods if they do not work.

Compatibility often arises out of the extra pins that some flashes have and the slight difference in sizes between major brands (and older/newer models!!). Sometimes one flash does not suit and another does, the price you pay for using generic units rather than your flash/camera brand.
