Hi

I have set the D90 up on a tripod near a bird feeder and want to use the wireless shutter remote to take pictures

Problem I have is whatever setting I put the D90 in the wireless is only active for 60 seconds and if not used defaults back to the normal shutter method

Is there a way to set the wireless shutter and keep those settings on the camera for an hour or more

Actually doing this now so a speedy reply would be great :)

Got it thanks very much

Hi thanks for advice, MAX is 15 minutes for the timer on D90 and D50 I have but thats enough as when the birds start even if disturbed they are back in 2 mins

Lens on this was SIGMA 135-400mm 1:4.5-5.6, distance about 2 metres from subject :) thanks again

I have spent all morning doing the same thing in my garden, I bought one of these radio sets for less than £20 and use it all the time. My problem was the IR reciever on my D90 was out of line of site with it being on the front of the camera. I can now go hours without firing it and it never switches off.

very nice pic mark - this is my next project with a robin in my garden--i've got the same ir remote as neil fantastic for the price (oppilas wireless remote control dc2 for the d90 from amazon)

Apart from self portraits (or groups including the photographer), radio is a much better bet than IR. Much longer range, more reliable in bright light and can be used from anywhere within range, not just line of sight to the receiver (usually) on the front of the camera.

Lovely shot of the starling BTW, as has been said, much underrated in the colourfulness stakes, as are magpies.
