wireless flash triggers

ok thanks, i think for now, for the purpose of messing about on raining weekends two crappy old ones will do fine.

i had no idea all of this could be done so cheap, i thought i had to spend £200 on flashes and £100 on triggers, looks like i can do it all for a tenth of that :D happy days

You can always stick an ND filter over them to reduce the output or wrap a hanky or something like that round them to diffuse the light, that's what I do with my £1 ones

ive seen some pretty neat diffusers made from milk cartons, cardboard, tissue etc lol, it will be some fun, i just like trying stuff, if it all worked first time it'd be boring.

Yes indeed its great isnt it. I too thought i had to spend 200 quid on skyports and a few hundred quid more on flash guns. I have been enjoying using my wireless trigger this weekend doing some still live pics of fruit and things.

What i really want to do is some car portraits in the dark or low evening light. Now of course i need another wireless trigger as i think im going to need another flash gun, positioning both at 45 degree angles to the car. Not sure if u need another to light up behind the car?

Now what i need to know is what flashes are best to be using. I have a canon 30 and 40d and a 580ex so far plus my wireless triggers.

I have the yongnuo pt-04 (brought from hong kong via ebay) and am wondering how the heck you use them (impulse buy, couldnt afford any more lenses or gear as have a bit already anyway)

I've a D80 and hopefully a SB-600 from miss's claus (dropped enough hints(3wks to go) so soon will find out).... So how would I use it, as what settings would be needed on the D80 in order for this to work... As did just stick this trigger/receiver/transmitter and the D80 & then the flash popped up when I touched the shuuter button..

So how would I set it up in order for this to work?? So when I (hopefully) open the flash on xmas day (still dropping hints) and then it looks as thou I know what I'm doing HOPEFULLY!!! and then so I dont look a prize small fish without the 's' in front of myself infront of all an sundrie...

Many thanks, an yep I am a complete newbie hence why I am in the wrong "post it" zone

The trigger part goes on the hotshoe of the D80 and the SB-600 on the receiver. Make sure both are set on the same channel and the flash is set to manual (the pt-04 doesn't work with the i-ttl/CLS of your D80), choose a power setting on the SB-600 (1/4 is a good place to start) and fire away....

Ahhhh nice one. Many thanks for that

Just got our skyports up and running. They're absolutely brilliant. Fires every time without question. The transmitter is tiny, the receivers not that big either and, over all, just a great quality product. They're not cheap, compared with ebay triggers, but a bargain compared with pocket wizards and dare I say it? Probably 95% as good.
