Bare with me guys..relative newbie here.

I've got a Nikon D3100 and I've just treated myself to an SB600 flash gun. I've been using a Jessops 360afdn flash up untill I got my speedlight.

I'm now looking to experiment with off the camera flash and because the D3100 doesn't have a commander I'm looking to invest in some wireless triggers.

Can any of you togs out there recommend triggers so I can use both guns wirelessley. Not looking to spend a fortune but want reliability.

Thanks.

Yongnuo RF602's or 603's. They only work in Manual. The ttl versions are more expensive like pocket wizards. But of course not budget models.

Phottix Strato IIs are probably the pick of the bunch in terms of build quality and theire reliability is top-notch. The 603s are good, if not as well made, but they are much cheaper. Calumet sells a re-branded Strato Mk1 for £55, which is a receiver and transmitter and these are superb.

RE: working in manual - head over to www.strobist.com 101 section to learn the basics from the beginning..... it's a phenomenally comprehensive look at off-camera flash.

I've done a run through on manual flash in the tutorials section that may help but I'd head to strobist as the main port of call.

I recently got some of the RF-603s and very impressed, have been great so far. You can also use them as a wireless shutter release and it has the half press for focus etc.

I got a set of 3 for around £25-30 and will be getting some more as I add to my set up.
