Thanks, that one is on my list although I'm torn as far as getting one like that or the disc type as it would become annoying if I kept having to move it if I need to access the landline or lamp behind itI got this one for my desk in 2019 and it's still going strong. I like how it props up the phone so I can see alerts & stuff without having to reach for it. It charges fine through a metal backed case too.
(I got an older version)
Thanks, I'll add that one to my list. I have a touch lamp that has a usb port at the back which is handy for a chargerThis one from Anker
Its the disc type which I prefer . I bought this with out the supadooper plug and get fully charged in 3hours. You dont have to find the perfect point for charging and has a very small LED to show its charging .
I have since been given an Apple one that seems to take much longer even with the official Apple plug. The Anker seems to do a much better job than the Apple version and runs cooler when charging
I have an Iphone 8 and believe that you need the hi spec plug for 11 and above for optimum charging speed.

Is it laziness that stops you thinking of some reasons for yourself?just a question, why?
wireless chargers are terribly inefficient compared to plug chargers is it laziness?
Could you clarify what you mean by "laziness"?just a question, why?

Exactly. I have Multiple Sclerosis and I have a lack of sensation in my hands which means I find ables fiddly and difficult to even get a hold of, let alone plug them into the device. Also, it would get rid of a cable trailing over my desk.Is it laziness that stops you thinking of some reasons for yourself?
The can be easier to operate for some with bad hands or eyesight. May be tidier with no loose leads lying about. The stand type is a … stand which can be convenient. There I’ve done a few for you, see if you can think of some more.

yeah for you i see that but why in general the craze for wireless in a world of energy awareness?
around 47% more power than a cable according to googleUh, convenience....? It doesn't seem particularly crazy to me. I have to put my phone down somewhere on my desk. If I have to run a cable to it then (1) it will be untidy and (2) I probably won't. Put it on a stand and it's out of the way and charging.
I bet you're about to tell me how much electricity I'm wasting per year this way.

multiply that by umpteen million then yes.
Me band many others but I started this thread to get recommendations, not for you to continue your little enviro-crusade but I will say this. My wireless charger will do a hell of a lot less damage to the environment than your flights tp your holiday home.yeah for you i see that but why in general the craze for wireless in a world of energy awareness?
IF positioning on a base is critical (Mrs Nod's old Samsung was very fussy on the disc type charger she had), a couple of strips of wood double-sided-taped to the base will help keep the device in the right place.
@Mr Bump hasnt come back with any other use cases but yours is an obvious one for someone who uses phone a lot at a desk — keeping it wired to maintain charge would be returning to wired phones ;(.Uh, convenience....? I just built my own desk and considered it, but the flexibility of being able to move it around vs a hole cut in won out. It would have been cool, but impractical for me.I've seen some examples of people online cutting them into desks. It looks really cool but I decided it was beyond my skills.
I'm planning on putting it where the toy Aston is so that the cable runs behind and plugs into the back of the lamp. If I get a stand one, it means I have difficulty getting to the lamp/phone.
