If there are any members into making their own wine could you please point me to some links
where I can purchase an all in one wine making kit. I've had a look around and different kits
seem to have different equipment in them so I'm pretty lost.

Or give me a list of items I would need to put a kit together.

Cheers.

Hi John
Wilkinsons (wilkos)shop has every thing that you need
I make mine from cheap red or white grape juice from different shops and a tin of grape juice concentrate.
Glass demijohn x2, Juice, concentrate, Sugar, Yeast, Air lock and water to top it up with after racking

once you get familiar with the process

try making ''mead''

it's from [unpasteurized.?] honey and, when i did it years ago, it was the BEST EVER white wine

needs at least a year in the bottle though...:D

PS a starter kit....''link''
i used 2 5gall demijohns - after initial wild fermentation, i racked the liquid off the deposit into a 2nd demijohn and let it stay in there till complete, before bottling

Thanks for the replies Shane and John. Much appreciated.
Could you possibly give me a link to how you both make using your methods?

t'was before internet i think....:D

read books from the library - bought the stuff from Boots - followed the directions on the can of concentrate

had about 10 demijohns on the go .. had about 300 bottles racked in a garden cellar - nice even temperature...........:beer::beer:

I use a book called "Boots book of home wine and beermaking"by Ben turner but its from 1982 when you could buy wine making things from Boots.

As John said the library is your best bet, all the books on the internet seems to have US measurements.

With the fruit juice one all i do is all the above into a demijohn wait untill the bubbles have stopped then rack into the other demijohns untill clear.

The large tesco stores (tesco extra?) have good home wine / brewing kit. They have everything you need to get started, with stuff like demijohns, barrels, corkers, sterilising powder, yeasts, finings etc...they have some kits which are made for people with relatively little experience (being one of them myself!)
