so what is the point of the silly things? If I want to film my ride I'll just use 5D3 somehow or even get GoPro to get decent footage.

Well, their main use is so cyclists can report "dangerous" ( anybody who drives a vehicle) drivers on the streets of London. They might come in useful if you ever have an accident.

I wouldn't bother with one personally - but in the event of a collision you can use it to prove fault or not at fault in the event of an insurance claim.

While they are a good idea, you can't use such in court as far as I'm aware? Although they may be a god send in light of insurance claims? I use my GOPro for the race track but that's about it

yes, some are better than hollywood chases, but the image quality lets them down

It takes any uncertainty out of insurance claims. Worth every penny when some t**t crashes into you and you have no witnesses.

No one's talking about court, we're talking about insurance companies taking the wrong side due to lack of evidence, or their usual 60/40 responsibility bull****.
Besides.. can you provide any references to substantiate your claim about footage not being admissible in court?
