Hi all,
My wife's just about to boot up her new Dell desktop and I was thinking about antvirus, is windows defender good enough or do we need to get Avast or something similar?
She's been using Avast on her old Vista machine and it seems fine but if antvirus is built into win 10 then will it be ok?
Thanks

Sophos Home - usable on upto 10 devices.

You even get a web "control" panel allowing you to see any security incidents on all computers connected to the account.

I use Avast on my Win 10 machine.

If you have Windows 8 or Windows 10, Microsoft's Windows Defender is ready and waiting to protect you against malware. However, our tests show that you're better off with a free add-on antivirus solution.

This does look good!

Thanks for that !

Is it better than the built in package?
I haven't seen any creditable reviews that show Defender to be adequate, personally I use Avast (free), Malwarebytes (free) and CCleaner (free) and scan weekly.

avast every time.

sophos ive used in an enterprise environment and it's not very good at prevention. it'll tell you there are malicious files but only after they're on your machine.

Sounds like we'll stick with Avast ! Thanks everyone
