Hi Guys,

I have a Canon MP540 printer scanner connected to an iMac with sharing enabled. My wife has a new Windows 8 laptop that I am trying to print from on the network. I have downloaded bonjour, and it finds the printer but the MP540 is not on the driver list. I have downloaded the windows 8 drivers for it (an .exe file) and the printer works when connected to the laptop, but bonjour is still asking for a driver. If I click on the have disk button, it looks for a .inf file, which I haven't got.

Any ideas? this is driving me :bonk:

Can you search your hard drive for said int file, it might be somewhere obscure that windows isn't looking, then if you find it, point it to it.

You need to go through the Windows 'add a printer' wizard and intall the printer as a network printer rather than as a local one.

If an .inf file is still required, it will be contained within the .exe which you already have. You can extract the contents of the .exe file to a folder and navigate to that folder when required. Use something like WinRAR to extract the .exe.
