For the last couple of years I've been using a Viewsonic VP2365wb 22" 1920 x 1080 monitor with Windows XP. Yesterday I bought a new Windows 8 PC as my old one had finally bitten the dust. Unfortunately I don't seem to be able to use Windows 8's own 1980 x 1080 driver as this shows in a 4x3 style format and my original drivers don't work on Win 8. Also, Viewsonic don't offer a Win 8 driver download, so at present I'm stuck with 1680 x 1050 which presents my images as slightly squashed down?

Has anyone had a similar Win 8 issue and managed a work around where no drivers seem to work properly???

As I'm less than impressed with LR4 I'm thinking of fixing up my old XP machine and continuing with CS3!

Are you using VGA or DVI?

Not needed any drivers for any of my monitors.

It was the cable, didn't realise I shouldn't use my old VGA cable on the new PC, DVI cable installed and the two are now talking together and sorted the issue!

It's strange though as I had no probes running high res stuff on the analogue settings with XP.

Could be because it's not a touchscreen monitor.
Windows 8 does not have to be used with a touch screen monitor.

Yes but touchscreen monitors would need a specific driver, whereas non touch screen monitors can use generic drivers.

Generally they don't need drivers, our touch screens simply worked :) did the same with windows 7.

Ah I didn't know that.

I'm also starting to like LR4 now I'm getting used to it. Really don't like the fact it simply came with a download card though and not boxed with a manual, makes working things out (as LR is quite quirky I find!) a lot more difficult! Yes there's an on line one but I prefer having the manual in my hands when I'm confused, lol!

We bought a 22" ii yampa touch screen for testing a few years ago. Was below par on windows 7, excellent on 8.
