Good afternoon

My dad has asked me to ask you about problem(s) he's having with his computer.

He says he has Windows 7 installed and has done for a couple of years, and suddenly with start up Windows Vista start up screen is loading in stead of the Windows 7 one.

Any ideas much appreciated

First of all Sarah I would suggest him or you look on the PC and determine which OS is installed and then take it from there.

If he upgraded from Vista to 7, he may have regressed somehow.

Did the machine have vista on it at one point ? Did it ever give a countdown menu choice between vista and 7?

Has he made sure there is no vista disk in the cd drive or attached USB storage?

Okay, so dad has looked at it states that Windows 7 Home Premium SP1 64 bit is installed.

And Neil, thank you to you for your feedback, but its a no to all options. I'm really confused? Dad says the start up screen is different, a Vista one.

Unless he's selected a repair option I'd check the monitor and/or the resolution option
