windows 7 image

Hi

If you create a computer image using windows 7 tool, and store on disks. Should that hard drive fail, can you install the saved image on a new hard drive as long as its equal size, what happens with windows 7 licence, is it just a case of re activating it, if needs be calling microsoft.?

If I remember correctly the licence is on the image you have taken.

as long as its just a hard drive replacement it should just carry on. if it was a new machine (new motherboard) it may trigger reactivation, but a call to MS will sort that out.
