Hi all,
Just installed Windows 7 on my PC, now looking for a new email client, any ideas welcomed.

Thanks in advance.

I've been using Thunderbird for 4 months now. I'm not overly happy with it. It's a love-hate thing. And it has some irritations which are either bugs which only I have encountered or the developers are incredibly stupid.

Gmail if you can, the web interface is actually better than most desktop clients IMO (including Thunderbird, Outlook, Apple Mail) and you don't need to install anything.

another vote for Gmail, although windows live mail works well too. I've installed that on a couple of Windows 7 machines and had no complaints.

Windows Mail?

not the best but free

also as said, Thunderbird by Mozilla is another free option

Thanks all for the advice, I've tried Thunderbird but it gives me grief with my email account, using Windows Live ATM and it seems ok.

I have noticed more and more of my customers switching to Outlook now they have removed the e-mail client from Windows 7. I even use it myself on both my PC and my Laptop.

windows live mail seems the best most stable all rounder. Thunderbird had some nice features (colour coding emails etc...) but it constantly dies with certain windows updates...I am constantly having customers come to me asking why their emails have stopped and the only way to fix them is to delete the account and re-add it...shame, cos other than that it is cracking!

Maybe I have just been lucky, but I have been using Thunderbird for a couple of months without any problem.

Have to say I really don't miss anything from a full client, after using Gmail for a good few years, lots of great features packed in there now.
