I had the hard disk replaced on my desktop just over a month ago. The guy who did it installed Windows 11 and then we had trouble with accessing Microsoft Outlook (which I use for emails). He then did something and said it would be OK for a month, then I would have to reset my password (which I did) then I would get a security warning - which I did yesterday.
I am now unable to access my emails, because the system says my password is wrong - it isn't, and it doesn't recognise the last 4 digits of my phone number - which are also correct.
I have Googled this and apparently it is a common problem with Windows 11, but I don't know how to fix it.
I am going to phone the guy who did the repair.
I also have a Microsoft 12 digit security code, but what use is that?

I don't have a solution to your issue, I will not use anything Micro$oft, and I sign out of the M$ account.
Since a recent update, I have had programmes stop working, shortcuts vanishing from my desktop, default programme setting reverting to M$ programmes, and things that don't seem right.

Whilst looking for answers, I came across this

For email I us Thunderbird. Easy to use, all my emails in one place, never had a problem.

If it wasn't for Affinity, I would have no use for Windows frustrations.

Have you tried the web version of outlook to get your emails whilst the issues can be looked at?

I don't know if this is your issue, bit Microsoft has two different versions of outlook. An old and a new. Both are current and they look very similar. If you use one and then the other it can get confused as I believe it uses different pst files.

Yes this is as stupid and annoying as it sounds but for over a year the new one lacked very basic functionality.

Maybe check which you are using and try starting the other one.

I too had shortcuts removed they were Adobe elements and premier elements, gone I don't understand why Microsoft keep messing about with Window11. there is an old saying "If it ain't broke don't fix it" . My guess is someone is trying to justify their job and keep it with all these so called updates

I've found Googlemail has always done the job very well.

The big advantage for me is that, being web based, I can use it anywhere there's a browser.
