When my Blackberry contract runs out in the next few months I'm going to get a Windows Phone because I rather like Windows 8.1 and now I find that within a few months Microsoft will release Windows 10. I have perused the nerdnet for specific info regarding W10 but does anyone know of a website that has some hard information about the new platform. I need to know whether to put off my upgrade.

Microsoft have (since the old DOS days) seemed to have alternated between a quite decent operating system and an absolute dog.
Windows 8 / 8.1 is a dog!

Lets hope 10 is better, it can't possibly be worse.

I actually really like 8/8.1 on a tablet and phone, just not on a PC, the 'One Platform' windows 10 looks really promising to me <fingers crossed>

Hoping that the rumors are true too that all PC's/Tablets & Phones on Win 7 upwards will get windows 10 upgrade for free :)

The upgrade on all windows phones from 7 is a certainty so shouldn't let you be put off buying an 8.1 device

Have you looked at 'Windows Central' website Martin ??

I haven't, but I shall.

Good idea but I see there's a possibility that I might have to rebuild my existing system if it goes wrong; I think I'll wait and see. Thanks anyway.
If you have enough disk space and some free time run it inside a VM (virtual machine) that way you don't impact your current working PC. It's pretty straight forward to do with esxi or probably simpler oracle virtualbox (its free and very easy for home / desktop use).
