Yes
Only just found out Windows 10 has what it calls Storage Sense. I believe it clears out unused files. Mine is currently turned off, can I ask if anyone uses it, and, more importantly, does it work.

Looks like it automates normal housekeeping but try it and see

Apparently mine was turned on by default, it seems useful but it has not freed up any unused space ( I tend to be tidy and not keep junk)

Turn it on when you are short on space and it does automatic housekeeping for you.

Part of it also gives you the chance to remove older versions of Windows but I'm not yet brave enough to give that a try.

Having just had the Fall Creators update, I was a bit horrified to find my 240GB system SSD only had about 15GB free. Now I'd allowed a few duplicated downloads to accumulate, but hadn't banked on the windows.old file being 48GB. I've deleted about 20GB of un-neeeded stuff, and will probably have to bin that too.

Thanks for all the help.

I used storage Sense and initially it save 260mb. then when I ticked the "Remove Old Windows" box it save another 16GB. I think it's fine to use it as long as has been mentioned before you either untick the "Delete Files In The Downloads Folder". I have files in there that I need, others probably do too.
