Windows 10 memory question

Shortly going to be putting together the new desktop.I have an unused copy of W7 (retail) which I was going to install along with 16GB ram, with plans to add another 16GB end of the year. Now I know that W7 Home Premium only goes up to 16GB and Window 8.1 goes up to 32GB. Now here's the question:

Does anyone know if I was to go to Windows 10 when the free upgrade comes out, would I be memory capped at the previous version?

If I am going to be capped then I may go W8.,1 as then if I do decide to tip my toe in video I can max out the motherboard.

Also check your motherboard manual to see the maximum amount of memory that it can handle.

Thanks Paul, the motherbaord maxsout at 32GB. As I have not yet found if W10 could be capped at 16GB if upgraded from W7, tempted to go to W8.1

What happended to those that went from W7 to W8 or W8.1 did the memory cap rise for them?

Unless something very odd happens it'll be the same as 8/8.1.
