Windows 10 and Lightroom 5.6 Auto Import problem

This may be a very easy fix but I cannot see the wood for the trees !
I recently installed windows 10 and have encountered a few problems with Lightroom 5.6.
Namely it no longer auto imports when I insert the camera memory card into the computer slot.
On Lightroom-File-Auto Import-Enable Auto Import, the last bit Enable Auto Import is grey coloured and non-operational.
Help ! How do I get it back to black colour and enable it ?

Sounds like you need a driver for the card reader.

If you could borrow a portable card reader, you could plug it in and see if this allows Lightroom to import.
 
Are you aware that Lightroom 5.6 is not the latest version, 5.7.1 is and it works fine with Windows 10.
 
Thanks for the help. I missed my own point, DUH ! When I put my memory card into the sd slot on the computer, Lightroom would automatically detect it and display previews. These I would click to import into the lightroom library.
Now Lightroom doesn't realise there's a card in the computer ! I have to open Lightroom and get it to get the previews from the card in the computer. I'm sure it has something to do with the settings in Windows 10 but I don't know where to change this in windows 10. I'll get to a solution one day !

Might be worth checking your Preferences, General, and make sure Show Import dialog when Memory Card Detected, is ticked
