I've got a weekend planned in the Lakes next weekend and was looking forward to the Saturday at the Windermere Air Show and Sunday at the Greystoke Stages Rally.

Well looks like the Air Show is on on both days and the Rally Stages have been cancelled due to lack of entrants this year according to the organisers and

Is anyone else planning on attending the air show?
 
I keep meaning to get to the Windermere Air Show, but have never made it. Wouldn't have a clue where is a good spot or anything, but am tempted to try and make it this year.
 
Is it in around the lake itself? No I dont mean IN the lake just the immediate area.
 
I'm hoping to go as I will be in Kendal over the weekend ... I would also be interested in where the best viewing areas are? .. I guess Bowness will be packed so parking could be difficult! :thinking:
 
Been meaning to go myself for a number of years, but never made it. Staying with my in laws near Troutbeck Bridge next weekend, so I have no excuses really.

I am told that there is an official park area just to the south of the main promenade in Bowness and between Glebe Road. I think it is £5 to get in for adults, but kids under 16 go free.

There also appears to be a view point just on the hill above Bowness called Biskey Howe?

I think I need a quick look around on the Friday to decide on possible best positions me thinks.

Was slightly dissappointed about the Sunday Rally though, as this was my main reason for heading up to the Lakes next weekend. Oh well, hopefully the weather will be kind for a change and there are plenty of other things to photograph.

Just had an e-mail back from the organisers saying they are still planning for the rally next year though.
 
I need a good air show, I'll have a look at this.
 
There looks like access here: OS Map Satellite The green dots show public access but what sort I don't know, it's not a BOAT ( Byway Open to All Traffic) but there is a car park near by.

It could result in a low viewpoint though
