Ever since the BIG update a while back, every time my Windows 10 laptop does an update the lock screen image changes to one of the default ones. Eventually (after a few days) it'll change back to the one it's set to (one of my images). My image is still set in 'Settings - Lock Screen', it just gets overridden for a while. It's not a big deal, it's just a bit annoying. My lock screen image is far nicer than any of the default ones! Does anyone else get this? The only person I've been able to ask just uses the defaults, so hasn't a clue.

Yes. Windows 10 over-riding or ignoring numerous user defined settings after each and every update is its most annoying feature. As well as forcing generic lock screen photos, other settings, in particular "Do not recommend me Apps" seem to be regularly ignored. Same with some Cortana settings. The frequency of updates also appears to be increasing.

Mine's gone back to normal now - till next time............
I think it was after THAT update that the text changed to dark red and blue on a black background. Took me ages to figure out how to reset it because I couldn't read anything!
I don't use apps and seem to have got the better of Cortana.
It's not just me then
Apart from the minor irritations, I like Windows 10

Sorry for a post at a tangent but this is about updating W10

My 1511 installation according to my ESET system security program in the ESET GUI, it identifies system conditions and Win updates is one such condition, has updates due but none were listed on Win updates so I have clicked check for updates and so far none listed.

When you force the check how long have you found it takes to give a list of the available updates? NB edit - WUP has now found the 'list' and is in the process of downloading them.......though why an update for MS Office 2010 is coming I have no idea as I run MS Office 2007 !

FWIW the list in ESET does not include the Anniversary Edition (1607?) which I am downloading separately now as a reserve step ;)

PS on this page https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/kb/3116278 there is download of the Anniversary Edition as a much smaller file for updating/upgrading to the AE version

You lost me two words into the first sentance............. Mine just does its own thing when it wants to and since I have another computer I leave it to it. I think I've noticed updates for versions of MS Office I don't run as well. I'm also using 2007.
