Hi everyone!

I've recently taken up a new hobby, light painting cars - I'm still learning and I'm looking for quiet locations to perfect the art.

I've spent countless hours searching Google maps / Geocaching app for locations, something different that will make a good backdrop for the pictures, unfortunatly I have only found a handful of places.

What i'm looking for is somewhere I can go with a car, not disturb any neighbours (who may call police) and somewhere where I can take photos without concern or fear of someone appearing. Light pollution from Manchester is a problem - although, it can provide some dramatic effects but, that’s not what I’m after - so I prefer somewhere out in the sticks, away from this.

I like the idea of a reservoir or water so that i can capture reflections in the water, or something industrial/derelict where I can go. I prefer the locations to be public access, I'd rather not spend to much time explaining myself to the police!

how about Redesmere Lake in between Monks Heath and Siddington off the A34?

also, there's a derelict house on the drive into Total Fitness if you access from Woodford side - runs alongside the by-pass from Bramhall to Handforth.

there's some derelict farm buildings along the Chelford -> Knutsford road, not far past the Egerton Arms on the right hand side.. although it might make cars passing by a bit wary of what you're up to :shrug:

i'll have a think and see if i can come up with any others

Interesting you should mention total fitness, I've spent a lot of time there practicing, although from the Tesco entrance.

I'll check out the other side!

Redesmere, I did come across this on google maps, I'll do a double check.

Would I be able to get my car to those two buildings?
