I currently have 2 yongnuo flashes which I use on manual through 2 yongnuo wireless triggers.

In addition I have a sunpak (pf30x to be exact) which does TTL metering and on the back has + or - exposure. Could I put this on a 3rd wireless receiver and use it like that or as it is not a yongnuo or similar would it screw the electronics up?

I am tempted to just try it on a receiver but cant afford it all to go pear shaped!!!

It depends if your Sunpak does full manual operation. I'm not sure it does. I think the +/- EV controls are for auto exposure adjustment.

The triggers should certainly fire it, but I don't know what you'll get. Quite likely full power only.

Why can't you try it with one of your current triggers?

Never had Sunpak flashes, but as I understand it is safe to use on your camera hot shoe (low trigger voltage), so it should be fine with wireless triggers, as many people use Canon/Nikon/Sigma/whatever flashes with wireless triggers of different brands. :)

I think I will risk trying it - wont hold you accountable I promise...

I tried and it failed, for whatever reason it doesnt activate the Sunpak flash. Not really sure why. Cest la vie!

Won't fire it at all? That's strange  Unpredictable little blighters!

I'm not an expert so I might get something wrong. There are some flashes that need to work on camera hot shoe, it has to do something with the way it is triggered. Could google how it is exactly. I know that some Sigma flashes do the same, they need to be on the camera to trigger but it can't be triggered with wireless receiver.
