Yes
I'm in Bournemouth and we have the airshow this weekend.

I'm not into shows really and I've never photographed planes but figured it could provide a challenge/something new.

I've got. 35mm, 18-55mm and 70-300mm. Would he 70-300mm lens be adequate to use to try and get some shots with?

What setting should I look to use? I'm going with v.quick shutter speed, but do I want a high f stop?

Yes 70-300 may cope, as for shutter speed fast for jets, but slower for props so that they blur so 1/125 jest 1/800 then for aperture depends on how much DOF you need and also what ISO as these two remaining elements are what is going to determine exposure. Keeping in focus is the biggest challenge.

How did you get on ? I was there yesterday and have a 70-300VR with ok results. In truth, because of where SWMBO wanted to sit, I was too far away but if I'd have been between the piers, it would have been fine.
