Will Smith Legend - Spoilers within

tbh i thought it was avarege at best, way to much cgi,i did feel for sam though :( poor dog.

Only seen the trailer and it looks a bit '28 days later' so i'm gonna wait for the DVD. Missus wants to go though as she's a big willy fan...............ooooer :)

Wasn't the book of the film 'The Omega Man' called 'I Am Legend'?, the story line seemed quite similar. Good film :)

Yup, and the Will Smith film is a remake of 'The Omega Man' starring Charlton Heston.

To be honest I was disappointed by the film, not one of wills best.

It's not really a remake of the Omega Man, but more another adaptation of the book. I Am Legend was written in 1954 and has been made into a movie 3 times. The Last Man On Earth in 1964, The Omega Man in 1971 and I Am Legend. The second two films are vastly different to the book.

And I agree, for all the hype, it wasn't that great. Far too much CGI. The mutants were far too unrealistic to be believable.

*SPOILERS*

I enjoyed it, but there was too much continuity.
Heres a few I was wound up by:
- Robert Neville talks into the camera, telling the 'audience' that the mutants are showing NO human characteristics, and are completely de-evolved. Yet, in the scene where Robert smashes his head on his own trap, you see one of the mutants controlling 3 dogs. Keeping animals as pets is a human characteristic... I thought they were completely de-evolved?
- How did they become that way? The virus was the measels, just used for good, so if it went wrong, surely they'd have just died from the measels?
- How did they become that strong? Able to scale buildings and throw grown men through walls? They're just humans, after all.

Didn't buy a lot of it. Thought it was entertaining, and some of it was quite moving, including Will Smith's acting (shock horror, I know), but thats all it was. Entertaining.

I'm not sure genetic engineering is that simple ;) After all it was a mutation of the virus that caused it all...

Otherwise I mostly agree with you.

I really liked the film. very well put together I thought. Will be buying that one.[/further spoilers]

*further, further spoilers ;)*

It seems my understanding of genetic engineering is naive :p
Had a good chat with my dad about it, he explained it all.

I saw it again tonight. 3rd times a charm and all that :P
Another few things:
- Where do the lions and deer hide at night?
- Where did Anna and Ethan stay at night, and where were they when Robert's car was being attacked?
- What were the chemicals he sprayed everything with?
