Im fairly sure but not certain that sigmas will take a price hike in the next couple of days but wanted to check. Was v excited to see a 50-150 come up on the classifieds and gutted when realised its not HSM. Tempted to pull the trigger at warehouse express but tbh ill prob hang on and put together some more money (unless someone knows somewhere cheaper than 450?)

I have one ordered up from Clifton Cameras and they have not got it from Sigma yet, but they have taken payment so I hope that binds them.

The Sigma 150-500 has just gone up by around £90 on Warehouseexpress!

No such thing as a non-HSM version of the 50-150. There are two versions, I'm using a Version 1 (samples here), the Version 2 revises a few issues such as improving the minimum focusing distance.

Not sure if it's worth spending the significant extra on the HSM II version, some say it is, some who've had both didn't really notice any difference. A good example of the first version seems plenty good enough judging by some of the samples on Flickr and elsewhere. Strangely, the Mk1 Nikon version appears to be better than the Canon equivalent, almost all the issues I've come across have been from Canon users.

Warehouse Express seem to have put up the prices of Sigma lenses significantly already. 300 2.8 was about £ 1600, but is now £ 2100.

I picked up the MKI version of this lens 2nd hand (tested prior to purchase) for a bargain price. For me the change to the latest version doesn't stack up in real terms....cracking lens by all accounts. :)

Warehouse Express have put the price of the Sigma 120-400mm lens by over £110 since December when my Dad bought one. It's now £599, up from £485, so I'd say Sigma prices are rising along with everyone else's
