Yes
Well I may have "done a Janice" here on my Nikon D70 and I have photoguard insurance. Is it worth my while to make a claim, will I be covered for this?

:(

It depends on the small print on your policy I suppose, but I'd be amazed if they didn't class it as damage through misuse - they don't need much excuse to wriggle off the hook at the best of times.

You never know though - good luck! :)

Oops.... Sorry to hear that. I would be interested to know how though. I have yet to clean my sensor so......
I would say that if you had "dropped" the camera when cleaning it would be covered ok but I suppose the only way to know is to ask them.
My (brand new) D200 needed a new card reader fitted (don't ask) and my contents insurance covered it no problem whatsoever. Don't forget to check them also.

I also wouldn't dream of moving to Filey and claiming flood damage... :)

Far be it for me to suggest it but if someone were to knock into you in the street and your camera ws to go flying and smash to the ground you would be covered for that wouldn't you?

Thats an absolutley shocking suggestion and I'd be prepared to be that person for a very small fee :D

I can't say that the thought hasn't crossed my mind to do, but I don't think I could bring myself to do that. How bout I post it to one of you two and u can damage it and send it back... :p

Very good point - for the members with an inability to detect irony; Steep, Cwinhall and myself are NOT be planning to defraud an insurance company. There just aren't enough hours in the day now that Natwest is opening more branches. Oops, there i go again. :D

So if it's ironic it's within the rules, must have missed that bit.:)

No and again, good point. I suppose I'm just surprised you felt the need to bring it up?

some camera policies cover accidental damage, you may be able to upgrade your policy then give it a week and claim
