I would like some advice on a lens to purchase for the above subject. I'm not sure on the specifications of the lens.:help:
 
How much would you like to spend?

What sort of wildlife ?

I would also like to know if there is an all round lens as im just starting with photography and got the camera from my husband.
 
I've started with what I think is regarded as a beginner lens, a Canon F4.5-5.6 100mm-300mm lens. If I'm correct, they're not that expensive? I think this one is similar to mine, but slightly better.

Somebody here will know better, I might be talking rubbish. :D

Sounds like you would do well to look at the Sigma 120-400mm OS - they are a little over budget but you get a very good wildlife range there and optical stabiliser.
