Wildlife photography trip to Scotland advice.

Hi,
Me and the wife are considering heading up to Scotland for a few days in June. We really intend to do wildlife photography and were wondering if anybody can recommend an area to go.
I know this is a bit of a broad enquiry and there are loads of good locations in scotland but I haven't been to Scotland too much so would welcome any advice on locations that would be most productive, in terms of number of species.
Really would appreciate any advice,

As a "one stop shop" I would recommend Mull. From Highland Cows, through Golden Eagles, Buzzards, White-tail sea eagles, otters, puffins (with a boat trip to Treshnish), even whales.

My own favourite is Chanonry Point up at the Black Isle. I could spend days there watching the dolphins. A few nights at The Anderson, with their mind-boggling collection of malts and Belgian beers also helps :)

Can you advice any preferences Busy - get away from it all, beaches, mountains, birds, stay in one place or drive around. Whatever your preference there will be some great places to suggest.

Went to Loch Lomond and the round about area a couple of years ago. You've got Stirling close by with the William Wallace monument, Queen Elizabeth Forest Park, Argyll Forest Park & Blair Drummond Safari Park.:thumbs:

I'm going to Glen Coe then Skye myself on May 26th hoping to get some nice shots of the wildlife and landscape, so will be watching this thread carefully

Ranach Moor (I think thats how you spell it) is fantastic for Stags, they literally wander along the side of the road, The Nevis Range for Golden Eagles & Buzzards........I also reccomend the Road to the Isles which takes you through some stunning landscapes:)
 
Hi base yourself in Oban on the west coast of Argyll and you can tour the islands and highlands great base for exploring.
Loads of boats to hire and get out amongst the sea life, plenty areas for deer birds of prey otters ,and to many more to mention. And daily sailigs to Mull ,tiree ,Coll ,Iona etc.
Most important remember and buy a midgie net to put over your head when needed,(or do as i do and have another dram)

You would be better off going there than blair drummond (blair drummond isnt very tog friendly :thumbsdown:)
 
I think you can't beat the highlands. Around Loch Garten, Osprey, cappers, crested tit, red squirrel, goldeneye and slavonian grebe to mention a few. Loch Morlich scottish crossbill greenshank etc, then a trip up Cairngorm for ptarmigan, dotterel, snow bunting a chance of golden eagle and reindeer. All this within a few miles of each other cant be bad, its never disapointed me.

anywhere between Thurso and Ullapool ( please take the midge repellant, Avon skin so soft works well...)
Loch garten to see the Ospeys.
Buzzards are everywhere.
The woods near My hoose for red squirrel. ( I haven't managed one myself yet ) have a good time. Fort william is a great base.

What is Avon skin so soft ?
