Hi everyone
I am heading to The Isle of Harris in November and will be concentrating on landscape and seascapes. However will be taking my Sony 200-600 along and hoping some of you can recommend where in Harris are good spots for wildlife/birds etc I don’t know the area well so any tips would be great. We are staying in Tarbert but willing to travel around if I have too .

I don’t know either but I would absolutely love to join you.

There is the North Harris Eagle Observatory and the Bogha Glas Trail, but I guess you have seen details of these already. We had some good, but distant, views of golden eagles from the observatory in a March some years ago and also loads of golden plover and barnacle geese elsewhere.

The Outer Isles are excellent for bird life but you might have to work hard or just be lucky. I've seen otters in a lochan while driving through Harris and a golden eagle just sitting on a fence post too.

The autumn migration is going well. I can't comment on the isles but pink footed geese and whooper swans are in or flying over the mainland of NW Scotland now.

Although the weather could be 'challenging' I hope you have a great time in a spectacular part of the country.

I'd plan your landscape/seascape trips and see what wildlife you get on the way etc. You may see the 2 "wild" horses at Luskentyre and highland cattle at Hushinish beach. Ŵe saw seals and seabirds at the Butt of Lewis lighthouse.
I also saw young deer in the garden of a derelict cottage.
There's no shortage of photo opportunities but in November the days will be short.....
Garry beach, near tolsta was one of my favourite beaches. It's close to Stornoway so we visited there before we got the ferry back to the mainland.
The sea stacks are amazing.
