Ive gradually started becoming more interested in photographing wildlife, which has taken me by surprise really, as I bought my camera due to an interest in portraiture.

Anyway, Ive been following Sawman's deer tales with interest here and wondered whether there was anywhere that I could see such animals myself.
When I Googled... this came up.

Im quite interested & was wondering whether anyone else here has been to any of these.

My Dad's booked on the Gorilla one at Howlett's in June. Mum & I are going along to have a wander round the zoo and try and take pictures of him taking pictures!

The man in charge (John) is very patient and communications were good with him as we had a few problems with printing off the voucher for Dad's pressie (people on here helped) and Mum booked him for tomorrow, not realising it's the biggest rugby match of the season for us and John was very obliging and helpful to shange the dates.

I haven't done an animals on safari one, though the british wildlife one did look very interesting and I am told they do do good days. Keep us posted Glo, I have looked at that site so many times and still not booked anything yet.

FWIW I DID do a day at the Gloucester Barn Owl place and that was brilliant, max 8 togs and there was only 5 that day and a range of owls all free flying out in fields and trees as well as several more doing stationary shots on logs and so on, so that one I can recommend!

Just had a look and if you go to the BWC website you can book with them for half the price.

Would not mind a visit there myself.

I've been to British Wildlife Centre a number of times but booked through Wild Arena and direct. I think sometimes, having a "guide" to interface to a venue is worth the extra expense.

A couple of pics from my last visit

In many ways, I think it is an autumn/winter place as the foxes are in winter coats although I did go once when there were fox cubs and took 900 pics of them!

Paul those are fantastic ... that last shot is something else! reminds me of some of the birthday cards Ive seen doing the rounds lately ... only better!!!
I hope you framed it!

Kelack, keep us posted on your dad's venture!

LL, if I get any further than looking, you'll be sure to know... be great to have a TP group day there or somewhere similar :)

Now, a TP day would be a really good idea. So, we block book the venue and are clear on what we want to photograph. Dates dependent, I'd be up for that!

Thanks for the comments. The harvest mouse used Wild Arena's studio setup so not too much skill on my part!

Id definitely go back to BWC :) biggest difference to the organised events there is you can get into the pens with some of the animals, but can get that access booking direct rather than going through wildarena etc etc

Took this there :)
