Wild Animal!

Right I will start at the beginning!

I heard about a place close to where I work which is really good for all types of owls!
And as I have never seen a wild owl I took a trip on Saturday night.
Anyway I got there about 8ish & as dusk appoached I could here allsorts of hooting & screeching & there it was!!!
A huge dark shaped swooped out of the sky & was gone again!
my first wild owl!

So I thought I would try again last night!
But I didn't see any, so as I started to walk back to the car I saw a very large dark shape running through the long grass towards the woods, at first I thought it was a dog & looked for the owner, but no joy!
So I guessed it was a small deer? but as I walked back to the car I could here a very loud snorting coming from the woods where the deer? had entered.
(its a good job my trousers were tucked in my boots!)

Now I couldn't see the head of the animal in question because it was running head down, but it was very stout & almost black.

So was it a wild pig/boar?

It sounds feesable I know there are a few about in the "west country" but don't know for sure if they have made it quite that far up though
Oh and don't mess with them they can get a little snotty when disturbed

Your not kidding, this noise it was making!!
(I'm taking spare pants the next time I go up there!)
