Is it just me ?, or is anyone else completely flumaxed at the idea of actually promoting, the idea that people, even whole familys, should sit in front of a TV screen and pretend to bowl/play tennis/golf/darts, or whatever ?

I thought the entertainment industry had already gone a bit mad, but then they come up with this. It hit me as soon as it came out (the Wii that is), but now after seeing an ad for 10 pin bowling, its really hit home.

IS THE WORLD DOOMED ?

Is this what its come to now. ?

Do people not actually go out and do stuff anymore ?

It scares me, it really does.

I fancy Animal Crossing (although I've never played it).

Think I must be beyond help.

In my defence, sometimes you want to galavant, do creative things and live large and sometimes afterwards you just wanna come home and wind down.

My 3 year old can play bowling on the wii. I doubt she could lift a bowling ball.

I enjoy playing the Wii, but there's few games you can actually take seriously, but then it was never intended to be that sort of platform I don't think. House of the dead, Wii sports etc are great, especially with friends over a few beers.

raving rabbids is the best games on the wii i think. TV party is really good. COD is good, but not my thing. Mario Kart was a let down, although online play id good. Paper Mario is alright but a bit weird. Super Mario Galaxy is the best game.

:)im not usually into games consoles ,but i love the wii, great fun and easy to play, not to mention it keeps you fit but in a fun way, loving it xxxxxxxxx:clap:

Gotta admit, the Wii is further evidence of Nintendo's innovations and ideas . . . but it still didn't stop me from feeling like a total prat playing Wii Bowling on a friend's Wii.
Think I'll stick to being a casual gamer, hunched over a glowing 19 inches monitor in a darkened room playing first person shooters, all lonely and isolated.

Bliss.

The Wii was too much like hard work, if you ask me. :D :D

If you look a the majority of Wii games you will see that unlike the Xbox 360 etc it is aimed "mainly" at kids.

In the evenings when its not "safe" for my kids to be playing outside, I would much rather them be getting a little bit of excercise from playing the Wii than sitting in front of the TV watching CBeebies etc.

And it is quite good fun really. My other half is on maternity leave and uses the Wii Fit and balance board during the day as an alternative to the Gym.

But surely it's no different to whole familys sitting around a table playing Monopoly,
Cards, Scrabble, Domino's etc ?. Just technology takes it to a new level.

We have fun with it, which i thought was the whole point. It doesnt stop us going out...

bunch of friends and family and brain games is fun. Or Mario Olympics :D

Lol at the fact that everything loves the wii apart from the OP.

The Wii is fab, i still like wii sports, as I like mario & sonic at the olympus and mario super charged strikers is fab but im rubbish at it!

i still love my PS3 more though :p

It's a good party console, but thats all it really is. Unless you have groups of friends around constantly, its hardly used. Well mine is, I'm trying to sell it.
