Wife Threw Lumix GX1 in the Dustbin

As long as it's your own money and you can still pay the bills, I don't see why people should have to hide things from each other.

I enjoyed this read. It does make me feel glad that my wife doesn't batter an eye lid when it comes to new purchases. If we have the money and I genuinely need it then fine.

But I still don't get why people hide things from the person they are married to.

because some wimmin think we ought to be saving our last penny for "essentials" like replacing a perfectly good kitchen, or redecorating a room that doesnt need it, or getting a new car to keep up with next door etc

actually my wife isn't like that and I don't have to hide stuff from her - but my ex was the psycho hose beast from hell in that (and other) regards

I bought a Lamborghini once without telling the Mrs., which delayed her dream kitchen. Anything camera related that I buy now seems really tame in comparison, so I never have a problem.

Brilliantly written story! 16 years for my husband and I, and still totally separate finances, but I seem to have the opposite problem to most - he keeps telling me that my savings aren't earning any interest these days, so I might as well buy lenses instead. I do my best to resist, but I might just have a 100mm macro L and 70-200 f/2.8 IS L II due to be delivered tomorrow :-) Woops!

Ha ha, +1. He 'persuaded' me to buy that new camera body I was lusting after. At least it not going on a torrid affair! And he knows where I am on Saturdays ... and then I can't moan about him spending dosh on boys toys.
