I need a budget wide angle lens for a canon 500d. I'm going to be taking pictures for a family wedding. Any ideas?

Canon 10-22 EFS, If you can't afford to own one buy it used and sell it again after the event. With a bit of luck you may even make a beer or two out of it ;).

When I say budget I mean under 200 quid. I'm getting married myself this year so I'm somewhat strapped for cash.

Hire a lens. Much cheaper.

sigma 10-20 used will set you back £250 used. If you went for an older model with manual focus I'm sure you could get something well under your budget. I don't thing you could get anything new from sigma or tameron new for that sort of money certainly not canon.

Wider than the kit lens?
You won't get anything worthwhile for that price new. The sigma 10-20 can be got for just over £300.

Been using a Samyang 14mm f/2.8 manual focus lens for a couple of months now, it doesn't cost a fortune, excellent lens!

Took this today;

I was lucky enough to get my Sigma 10-20mm for sony mount here on tp for £210 :D so they can be had for near your £200 budget with a bit of luck

Save the little extra and get the Sigma 10-20, excellent lens for the money and good prices to be had second hand.
