wicker_man's 365 Project for 2010 **Finally Up To Date!**

Water droplets on a spider's web. Spotted this on some railings whilst on my way to town. The (out of focus) object in the background is actually a Christmas tree which somebody has dumped there.

Today was a day of Serious Work. I went to uni to work on some coursework due in this Friday (too many distractions at home!) and was planning to get it all done and out the way to focus on revision. But, it turned out that I forgot a textbook, and they didn't have any other copies left in the library. However, I did get this pretty cool shot (I study civil engineering though!)

I then discovered that I forgot a crucial sheet also, which resulted in me having to walk all the way back home to get the forgotten items and go back to uni again (20 mins each way!) I didn't get as much work done as I'd hoped today, but hopefully tomorrow I will. First exam is also this Friday...

Today was another day of Serious Work. I spent all day at uni working on my coursework and had finished most of it at about 6:15pm when I got fed up and decided to go home. Not the most creative photo today, but I quite liked the red from the traffic lights reflecting on the wet pavement and roads.

the spider web is fabulous!.. like the last one too, the colours of the lights reflected is excellent!

Thanks! I think the spider web photo could have come out better if I had used my 40D (I could have focussed closer and got a shallower dof) but it doesn't fit in my pocket, and I think my LX1 did a pretty good job!

Yesterday's photo was a bit of a 'argh I haven't taken a photo for today!' kind of one, so on my way home from uni I was looking around for interesting ones to take and thought the road would be a pretty good option!

This is the Richmond building of the Portsmouth University business school.

It has some funky coloured windows and I thought it would make a good photo for today. Also, I didn't need to go out of my way to take this because it is right next to the Portland building (Civil Engineering building) which is where I was all day today revising for my first exam tomorrow!

First exam over! I reckon it went quite well, just 2 more left to go next week. I saw this skip on our road, so on the way home I took a photo of it and thought I'd try some selective colouring.

I thought this was rather amusing, found on the back of a packet of Nando's hot peri-peri crisps. Unfortunately I couldn't find any of the extra hot ones in Tesco, so I had to settle for just regular hot!

Not really an imaginative photo today- too much revision to do! I took this whilst using a computer at university, I thought the little blue lights on the mouse looked pretty cool!

This is inside the Portland building, home to Civil Engineering at the University of Portsmouth.

I was working there from 10:30am until just before 6pm, revising for exams tomorrow and Friday. The previous time I looked out of the window, it was daylight!

Had my second exam today, which also went pretty well. I've noticed these colourful huts between some of the uni buildings so I thought I'd take a photo of them for day on my way home.

Spent the day at uni revising for my final exam of the semester tomorrow (but it is going to be the hardest!)

Today's photo is of lights along a corridor in the Portland building of the University of Portsmouth. I was experimenting whilst processing the RAW file, and thought this turned out pretty cool, and gives it a kind of 'eerie' look!

Had my last exam today, it was challenging but I think I did OK. Decided to take a walk to the Historic Dockyard after my exam, and saw this sign. I have manipulated the colours and added the red/orange cast because the original looked a bit plain.

365 Project- 30/365

A broken snare drum skin. Took this today at the 'School of Rock society' jam session (basically where people who play instruments can jam together.)

I have completed one month of my 365 project today! This is a rusty hinge on an old garage door, which is falling to bits with rotting wood and peeling paint. I saw it whilst walking to the shops earlier today to pick up some milk.

Thanks for the comments. I got back rather late last night and I didn't have time to upload my photo from yesterday, so here it is (with description):

I had the first day of my Student Associate Scheme school placement today, I had to get up at a stupidly early time and leave the house by 7:15AM to catch the bus to Waterlooville. For obvious reasons I don't take my camera, so this is of the Guildhall Clock in Guildhall Square. We went to the pub for the uni Photography society social meetup drinks for international members who will be leaving.

My Canon Canonet, a 1960's Rangefinder camera from Canon. Still need to get some film to try it out!

On Thursday evenings, I usually go to the Nell Gwynne pub and do a bit of drumming on their open mic nights. People who play get a free pint.

Finished one week of my school placement today, so decided to relax when I got home with a nice mug of hot chocolate (well actually it was Frijj Chocolate Fudge Brownie milkshake, which I microwaved!)

Congrats on the month! Love the door hinge....

What's next in your band!? ;)

Roo

Thanks! I don't actually have a band yet, but I am in discussion with a guitarist and singer/bassist who I play with regularly about maybe starting a heavy metal/hard rock band.

The speaker cones of a Marshall guitar amplifier. Taken at the 'School of Rock society' jam session earlier today.

Thanks for the compliments! Yep, tell me about it. It seems that I hardly have time to follow people's 365's, let alone comment on them. I'll have to make sure I spend a bit of time going over people's latest ones.

Had to take my AV surround receiver to Southampton today, to be sent off for repairs. Took the bus there, but on the way back to Portsmouth, the bus was late and we missed the connecting one at Fareham by 2 minutes! We had an hour wait for the next one, so we went to McDonalds for a cappuccino/milkshake. This is the first person shot in my 365!

Semester 2 lectures started today, I had a 9am start. This evening, I had a photoshoot for the Portsmouth University Pure FM radio station members, and then went to the pub for the School of Rock society social and leaving party of one of the members (who was returning back to Germany.) On the way, I took a photo of the Portsmouth Central Library, in Guildhall Square.

Testing my extension tubes which I got this weekend. I took this with a 50mm f1.8 lens and 7 & 14mm extension tubes.

Like the maccers Shot! And Urgh...microwaved milkshake....

Roo

Thanks! I didn't have any actual hot chocolate (I don't really drink it often,) but the label on the milkshake recommended microwaving it!

Really loving 38, nice balance and colour.

Keep up the good work! =)

Took this on the way to the pub for the Photography society social. I don't think this photo is that great, but I didn't really take many (it was far too cold!)

Thanks, day 38's is definitely one of my favourites so far.

38 is great.. like the colours on the wall in the background

excellent macro shot above.. I got some macro filters on ebay but not having much success with them, got them for wrong lens I think!

More extension tube fun! Taken with a 14mm extension tube and 50mm f1.8 lens.
