OK, I failed miserably last year at my attempts at a 365 after about 65 days, so this year I want to see how far I get with a 52, hopefully I can last the pace, work dependent!

Week 1 - Accomodation...

Right, let's have a think

I think this is something iam going to try soon, was thinking the 365 but i know there will be days when i wont be able to do something or be to lazy.

Wibbly, I like the lighting on this. I would have probably tried to clone out the clock radio and the plug on the far wall. Looks like the radio is sticking out the side of the chair.

Thanks Ray, yeah the clock does look a bit odd doesn't it :bonk:

Well done for getting the first one done! Fingers crossed I'll have mine done at the weekend.

Nice take on the theme, how was that lit?

Like the dea of the spot light and the shadow - one to think about

Thanks guys :)

The lighting was natural in so much it was from the spots in the bedroom..

I'd echo the comments on the light (very nice) and the clock radio. I also think it is a good take on the theme

Ian

Thanks Guys, that's most appreciated!

Must look out for clocks in future

Great take on the theme.

Love the colours, lighting and the shadow from the rocking chair.

You have taken this from a good angle, and also agree about the clock.

That looks like some cozy accommodation.

Cheers

Dawn :)

Nice one. I like the lighting, esp the strong shadows. You've managed to make an ordinary scene interesting.

I must admit I didn't notice the clock, but when it's pointed out I guess it is a bit distracting. I do find the dark line across the bottom a bit distracting - is that the lighting or part of your copyright logo?

Great use of the available lighting in the bedroom to create a lovely looking scene, didn't notice the clock at first as my eye was instantly drawn to the big red sqwuare on teh duvet though hehe. Looking forward to more from you.

That's part of my copyright logo, just by introducing a band and removing all exposure... is it that bad?

Great use of the available lighting in the bedroom to create a lovely looking scene

Thanks Tommy, I agree I would have looked at it with a slightly different eye if I'd have noticed the damn clock

OK, this week has been a bit of a struggle amazingly trying to find something of real interest. :bonk:

I ended up doing this, as I recently bought the Canon 40d to replace the GF1 so it's kind of in with the new and out with the old.... Problem is, I could only shoot it with my iPhone so quality isn't the best - hopefully you get the idea tho! :p

Week 2 New - The idea and composition both work well and fit the theme, don't worry about having taken it on a phone. My minor crit would be a bit of cloning needed to remove dirt and dust from the table they are on and I would have taken the strap off first before shooting the camera. Just minor points but attention to detail can really make or break these style of shots.

All the best, Tommy.

Hiya Dave,

Wow! I really like that, and considering it was taken with your phone I think you have done a brilliant job. What type of phone do you have?

I like the way you have brought the new to the fore with the old in the background, very smart.

Also like the b&w conversion which suits the image well.

Well done and enjoy your new camera. Look forward to seeing the images you produce with it.

Cheers

Dawn :)

Hangs head in shame

OK, a bit of a cop out this week... I've struggled with this, I had one idea but that fell through.

I'm hoping for better this next week...

^ Yip ... to be honest... brutally honest... that is a poor shot... with not much thought as people have done similar for other themes... I've promised myself I wont be doing a somputer screen or macro of a book!

Your first image was stunning... second was good... come on... you need a stonker like no 1 again for this week!

Thanks for the brutal honesty Mark, my head is held even further down in shame now :(

Well people have been criticised here for not being honest... I was just doing that... on reading again maybe it was a tad harsh... sorry!

Hiya Dave,

I am doing a bit of a catch up at the moment so sorry it has taken some time for me to get to your thread.

I agree with Mark about your week 3 shot, but at least you got a photo to post for the week.

I notice that you haven't posted since then, so I hope what Mark said hasn't made you feel dispondent and punched your inspiration.

It would be great to see you get back on track and hopefully catch up with the missed weeks.

Comments and critique can seem harsh at times, but that should hopefully help with the learning experience and improve photography skills.

Please don't give up. Afterall, we are probably all going to have a couple of weeks were we either lack motivation or inspiration. That is why we are all here, to support each other through this project.

Cheers

Dawn :)
